Most favourites won their group matches

Daryl Peach (GBR) seems to be following in the footsteps of Tony Drago with his performance.

The former 9-ball World Champion defeated Elio Del Sarto (ITA) with 9:4 in 55 minutes and then Elvis Ambord (SUI) 9:0 in unbelievable 27 minutes! Peach seemed to be unstoppable today.

Polish Mateusz Sniegocki was not much slower than him. He defeated Roman Yaroshenko (RUS) 9:1 and Steve Leisen (LUX) with 9:2 to finish today's work and can now take a good rest before tomorrow's double elimination starts.

Oliver Ortmann (GER) had to fight a bit more for his merits but in the end won both matches. He seemed to have overcome last night's tough defeat against Albin Ouschan. Ortmann beat Tobias Bongers (GER) 9:5 and Nico Mobilia (BEL) 9:3 to secure a spot for him among the final 64 players.

Current #1 ranked player Albin Ouschan stumbled in his second match. He defeated Berk Mehmetcik (TNC) 9:5 in the first group match but then fell with 8:9 to dark horse Luca Nicoletti (ITA). The outcome in this group will now depend on the third match. If Mehmetcik wins with a high result, Ouschan could be out.
