AMSTERDAM-OSDORP - The triumph march of Raimond Burgman in his own country and on international level seems to be unstoppable. The Netherlands number two won in Sander Jonen's Darts and Biljart Centrum in Amsterdam-Osdorp the second Grand Prix of the season, earlier he grabbed the win as well in the Grand Prix in Rosmalen.

Burgman was in the final in the GP van Amsterdam the strongest against Dave Christiani, 40-37 in 27 innings and proved once more to be the most consistent player in the cycle of Dutch tournaments.

He already said before the start: ,,I'm not a player of peaks and dips, I rarely play matches high above my normal level or far belov.''  That reputation he showed in this Grand Prix, where we played his highest average (1.904) in the quarterfinals, in the eighth finals 1.428 against Herman Slikker, in the semis 1.538 against Martien van der Spoel and in the final 1.481 against Christiani.

The overall result is also reflected in the final ranking: Raimond Burgman finished with a highest run of eight, where, for example, Martien van der Spoel shined with 16, Glenn Hofman run to eleven, Jan Arnouts and Rob Lamboo made ten. But as always, it was not the highest run or the highest average that decided over the win.

And in the winning mood is Raimond Burgman already for months, from the Kersttoernooi in Zundert, in the European championship in Istanbul, where he only lost in the final against Filippos Kasidokostas, in the Grand Prix in Rosmalen, in the Dutch team play offs with A1 Biljarts and now again in the Grand Prix in Amsterdam.

This is absolutely Raimond Burgman's season, there's no doubt about. ,,And now we're going for a holiday'', he said after his win in the Amsterdam Grand Prix, ,,to load myself up again for the rest of the year.'' He deserves it, the very sympathic Dutchman after his marvellous season start.

Dave Christiani, who played with some ups and downs in this Grand Prix, yet finished as a respectable second. He won in the semifinals against Jeffrey Jorissen 40-26 in 25  innings.

The final score (with average and high run):

1 Raimond Burgman, 1.609-8, 2 Dave Christiani, 1.266-9, 3 Martien van der Spoel, 1.161-16, 4, Jeffrey Jorissen, 0.981-9, 5 Glenn Hoffman, 1.380-11, 6 Jean Paul de Bruijn, 1.279 -8, 7 Jan  Arnouts, 1.160-10, 8 Rob Lamboo, 1.008-10, 9 Harrie van der Ven, 1.318-9, 10 Barry van Beers, 1.261-7.
