ALICANTE - Two heavyweights in the international three cushion, Frédéric Caudron (the world champion) and Torbjörn Blomdahl (the current world’s number one) meet each other next year, on February 28, 2014, in the famous billiard room of Hotel, Restaurant Caseta Nova de Castalla, near the Spanish tourist city Alicante.

The competition, for which tickets are available, starts at 18.45, the match is played over 40 innings.

Jose Javier Gimeno, a well-known personality in Spanish billiards and responsible for the club Caseta Nova, for which Dani Sánchez played a few years ago, is the organizer of the battle. The intention is that the prestige match between the two best players of the season will be played every year.
The player who scores the highest number of caroms in forty innings is the winner. The battle reminds more or less of what Juanjo Trilles did in Gandia two years ago with the match between Frédéric Caudron and Dick Jaspers. The winner, Caudron, was the first of both players who reached the 500 caroms finish.

Around the match a whole program will be organized, including a gala dinner with the two star players, for billiard fans who come to watch the fight.
The capacity of the hall is about 200 places. People who are interested, can sign in on the Caseta Nova website (www.hotelcasetanova.com). Reservations are awarded on the order of entry. The costs for visiting the match plus gala dinner are 50 euros.
